Music is the social act of communication among people, a gesture of friendship, the strongest there is.

Performance

I have spent most of my career as an orchestral musician, including almost 20 years as Associate Concertmaster of both the Adelaide (1995-2005) and West Australian Symphony Orchestras. (2005-2013).

As a soloist, I have been fortunate to have performed with many orchestras, including the Adelaide Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony, Adelaide Chamber Orchestra, Gold Coast Chamber Orchestra and the WASO, where my solo performances have included an appearance with superstar Nigel Kennedy in Vivaldi’s Double Violin Concerto, truly an unforgettable experience!

I have also given the World Premiere performances of works by Australian composers Richard Mills, Ross Edwards and James Ledger.

My solo performances have also taken me to New Zealand, and the USA, where I performed the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with Emerson String Quartet violist, Lawrence Dutton.

I have had the privilege also of performing on stage with some of Australia’s finest artists, including Michael Goldschlager, Geoffrey Tozer, Geoffrey Lancaster, Beryl Sedivka to name a few.

I have also performed as both as a recitalist and chamber musician, for Musica Viva, Adelaide International Festival of Arts, Blackwood River Chamber Music Festival, Barossa Music Festival, and in numerous broadcasts for ABC Classic FM.

In addition, I have played and toured with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Tasmanian and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. I still love to play in orchestras and frequently lead the Perth Symphony Orchestra, a super bunch of musicians with a unique and inspirational mission (www.perthsymphony.com), and regularly play both interstate and overseas. I have recently worked in Norway as Guest Associate Concertmaster with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Truly a fantastic experience.

One of the highlights of my career has been performing Wagner’s Ring Cycle, both in Adelaide and Melbourne. Working with Maestro Jeffrey Tate on Australia’s first ever production of The Ring in Adelaide 1998 was a truly wonderful and memorable experience. I look forward to many more exciting performances, who knows where?!
