FAQ's

Q:What age groups do you teach?

A: Violin lessons are available to anyone regardless of age. Having said that, 5 years is the earliest I will accept students for violin tuition.  If the child is younger than this, I recommend they join an early childhood music school such as Cottage Music in preparation .

Q: How long do lessons go for?

A: This varies depending on the student. For advanced students, the lessons are usually 45 mins or one hour. For beginners aged from 5-7, it is optimal to have more than one lesson per week, until they are set-up. These lessons usually last 20-30 mins.

Q: What should I bring to my first lesson

A:  Obviously a violin is a good thing to bring, however, please discuss with me first about obtaining an instrument. I can recommend brands and sizes. It is important to start with a good instrument!

Q: Do you teach AMEB material?

A: Indeed I do, and I am also an examiner for the AMEB , so I have a fair idea about the standard and expectation required.

Q: Can I have a trial lesson?

A: Yes , a trial lesson is always a good idea.
